Separate a local office search from the right NSW process
For a housing, building or strata issue, identify the property and keep the agreement and latest notice together. A tenancy disagreement and an owners corporation dispute can need different advice. Tell the office whether any tribunal or court papers have arrived, and supply the complete documents rather than only the name of the process.
Plan access, travel and the first appointment
If you are outside metropolitan Sydney, ask whether the first consultation and document review can be handled by phone or video, whether an in-person visit is necessary and who covers any travel. Give the actual court or meeting location when asking about representation; a remote consultation does not confirm attendance at a regional hearing.
Compare the first stage of work
Ask each office to price the same task: an initial appointment, review of identified documents, a response or attendance. Confirm who performs the work, what is excluded and whether outside expenses or travel are additional. If there is a formal date, give it before booking and obtain confirmation of who is responsible for the next action.
